About ClaimRatio

Why this site exists

If you search for insurance information in India, every site asks for your phone number before it shows you anything useful. Within minutes the calls start, and the actual data you wanted, like the claim settlement ratio of a specific insurer, is still hidden behind a lead form.

ClaimRatio is the opposite. It is a plain, fast reference for the public data that insurance regulators already publish. You can look up any IRDAI registered life or health insurer, see its claim settlement ratio history, compare it against another insurer, and estimate a premium, all without creating an account.

Where the data comes from

Claim settlement ratios are sourced from the IRDAI annual reports, the statutory document that every Indian insurer files each year. Premium estimates in the calculators are built from published rate cards and peer benchmarks. Every page lists the source year so you can verify the figure against the original report.

How ClaimRatio is funded

The site is free to use. We earn a small commission when a reader clicks an outbound link to an insurance aggregator and eventually buys a policy. That is the only revenue model, and it does not change how insurers are ranked. The tracker is ordered by the public IRDAI data.

Who maintains it

ClaimRatio is a small independent project, not a broker, not an insurer, and not a subsidiary of one. Corrections, missing insurers, or data issues can be reported to hello@claimratio.com and we read every note.
